Following April’s achievements refresh, Xbox is rolling out another round of console updates to Xbox Insiders. The latest test build introduces a new console boot up experience, tiered Gamerscore badges, and expanded game library filters. As with the previous rollout, these features will start with select Insiders before reaching the broader Insider rings, with a wider release coming to all players sometime later.

The boot up experience gets a fresh animation and sound, featuring the new Xbox logo with the signature green. It’s a small but visible refresh that you’ll see and hear every time the console powers on. Xbox didn’t share details on how it sounds, but updating the boot up feels like a natural fit alongside the broader brand refresh that’s been rolling out across dynamic backgrounds, gamer pics, and other system-level visuals as Xbox ushers in a new era with CEO Asha Sharma.

The more interesting change is the new tiered Gamerscore badges, which reflect a player’s lifetime Gamerscore on their profile. As your total Gamerscore grows, the badge tier evolves with it, giving achievement hunters a fresh way to showcase their long-term progress. The badges appear both on your profile and in the Guide, making it a quick at-a-glance reference for both you and anyone browsing your profile. Xbox hasn’t shared the specific tier thresholds yet, but for anyone who has been building up a Gamerscore since the Xbox 360 days two decades ago, it’s nice to finally see that effort recognized in a more visible way.

The third update focuses on the game library, with new filters that make it easier to separate games you own from games shared with you, and identify installed titles that are no longer playable. This one is going to be useful for anyone who jumps between consoles or has a backlog of installed games where some have rotated out of Game Pass. Knowing what’s actually playable without having to launch the game first is one of those quality-of-life improvements that should have been there years ago.
