One of the best deals in gaming has ended, as Microsoft confirmed to The Verge the $1 trial offer for Xbox Game Pass is no more. The $1 trial offer often appeared for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass and it’s one promotion that I took advantage of several times. “We have stopped our previous introductory offer for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass and are evaluating different marketing promotions for new members in the future,” says Kari Perez, head of global communications at Xbox, in a statement to The Verge.

The move comes as Xbox Game Pass is slowly rolling out a Friends & Family plan in various markets including Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, Chile, Hungary, Israel, and Sweden. Unfortunately the Friends & Family plan hasn’t arrived in the U.S. yet, but it could be coming sooner than later now that the $1 trial offer has been discontinued.

Even without the $1 trial offer, Xbox Game Pass is still a really great deal. The monthly fee gets you access to hundreds of games and the lineup is constantly being updated with new additions. We love checking out the random games that are available on Game Pass and doing 2-hour reviews on them.
