Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is getting a sequel, and the creator of the original is the one making it. 505 Games and Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology, a Chinese studio operating under the brand name Indolphinity, announced a development and publishing agreement today covering the next chapter of the Wuchang series. Indolphinity was founded by Xia Siyuan, and it will lead creative development while 505 Games funds the game and handles global publishing.

When I put together our list of the top games to play in July 2025, I flagged Wuchang: Fallen Feathers as one I was looking forward to. It launched on July 24, 2025, hitting Game Pass day one, and pulled more than 131,000 concurrent players on Steam at launch. It has since reached five million players worldwide across PC and console, and it came to PlayStation Plus in May 2026. The soulslike action RPG is set in the final years of China’s Ming Dynasty, following Wuchang, a pirate warrior who wakes with no memory of her past in the land of Shu.

Digital Bros Group, the parent company of 505 Games, acquired the intellectual property rights to Wuchang in April 2026, and the two sides have moved quickly since to sort out what comes next. Digital Bros is also standing up a dedicated subsidiary in Chengdu to support development and publishing, which puts the publisher’s new local operation in the same city as the studio.

Raffi Galante, co-CEO and co-founder of Digital Bros alongside his brother Rami, framed the deal as a long-term bet on Wuchang as a global franchise. He said the priority from the start has been to protect and amplify the original creative vision while giving the team the resources and publishing expertise to succeed worldwide, and that the company is committed to keeping the creative heart of the IP in China. Xia said his team remains devoted to its original creative aspirations and cultural foundations, and that it’s aiming to answer long-standing player expectations with more polished quality and a more complete experience. Xia closed his with a line that doesn’t need much unpacking: “Wuchang’s story is far from over.”

The announcement doesn’t include a title, a release window, platforms, or any detail about what the sequel actually is. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is available now on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC.
