Witchbrook Finally Has a Release Date, and It’s Adding PS5
Witchbrook, Chucklefish’s magic school life sim, launches January 28, 2027 for $24.99 on PlayStation 5, XBOX, Switch, Switch 2, and PC.
Witchbrook finally has a release date of January 28, 2027, and Chucklefish also confirmed a PlayStation 5 version alongside the previously announced XBOX, Switch, and PC releases, so the full platform list is now PlayStation 5, XBOX One, XBOX Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, and PC. The date came with a new gameplay trailer during today’s Indie World Showcase. Chucklefish re-revealed the magic school life sim in March 2025 with a winter window, then pushed it to 2026 last October, and the new date ends up a few weeks past that. It’s the studio’s fourth in-house title, with co-development support from Robotality.
For those who haven’t been following it, Witchbrook has players enrolling as a witch-in-training at Witchbrook College in the seaside town of Mossport, where they attend classes in Alchemy, Astrology, Tarot, Rituals, and more, complete assignments, pass exams, and unlock spells on the way to graduation. Between lessons, there’s a cast of characters to befriend or romance, a witch business to run for the local community, clubs to join, seasonal events, and the usual life sim pastimes like birdwatching, bug-catching, and fishing. Players also get a woodland cottage and garden to renovate, along with customizable clothing, hair, and accessories, and all of it can be played with up to four players in online co-op.
The new trailer covers a day in the life of a student, with classes, spellcasting, exams, library browsing, salve and potion-making, tarot readings, and a first look at some of the game’s magical creatures. Witchbrook will support English, French, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese, and it will be priced at $24.99 with regional pricing to come. It will also be available on XBOX Game Pass from day one.
