Three years after Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy, Frozenbyte is bringing its co-op puzzle-platformer series back. During the Day of the Devs showcase, the studio announced Trine 6: Together in Time, which launches September 17, 2026 on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The story introduces two new heroes, Moira and Adrius, a pair of young upstarts whose botched heist accidentally ties their fate to the series’ established cast. Alongside returning favorites Amadeus the Wizard, Zoya the Thief, and Pontius the Knight, they set out to undo a magic gone wrong before a warlock can reclaim it. That brings the playable roster to five, with Moira the Acrobat chaining kick combos and swinging on a ribbon, and Adrius the Squire fighting with a spear he can also plant to create platforms.
Frozenbyte is leaning harder into co-op this time, building puzzles so any character can solve them rather than locking solutions to specific heroes, which lets players pick based on playstyle. Solo players get puzzle designs adjusted for one, and the game supports one to four players both on a single couch and online via crossplay. A new Time-Slow ability, available to every character, lets players slow the action to line up jumps, dodge attacks, or steady themselves in hectic moments.
Combat asks for positioning and timing against enemies with their own tricks, including some that shield or strengthen their allies, while boss fights fold in traversal and environmental hazards. As before, the handcrafted levels hide secrets and rewards to power up the heroes.
Players won’t have to wait until September for a taste, either. A Trine 6 demo goes live June 15 as part of Steam Next Fest, and the game is available to wishlist now.
