Preorders for God of War Laufey open tomorrow, September 29, at 10:00 AM local time, and Santa Monica Studio has detailed what comes with buying in early ahead of the game’s February 16, 2027 release on PlayStation 5. Anyone who purchases the game before launch gets the Last Wish Armor Set, a Golden Leaves cosmetic appearance for Phranque, the cosmic cube companion played by Jack Quaid, and an in-game resource pack, with the armor and appearance unlocking through story progression. Those picking up the physical Standard Edition, which the studio confirmed back in July, will get the bonus as a download code instead.
The Digital Deluxe Edition, which is digital only as the name suggests, adds a full Dark Alchemy set covering Faye’s armor, Blade, Bow Scales, and Catalyst, along with another in-game resource pack, a digital mini artbook, and the official soundtrack. Pricing wasn’t included for either edition, though the Dark Alchemy Bow Scales do double as an example of how the Serpent Bow’s customization works, since Scales change both the look of the weapon and the playstyle it specializes in through a unique perk.

Along with the edition breakdown, the studio introduced Faye’s Serpent Bow, an enchanted weapon with the shifting form of a serpent that goes from dormant to notched fast enough for her to fire arrows in between melee attacks. It has two modes depending on how far the aim trigger is pressed. A full press puts Faye in a precision stance with tighter aim and longer draw distance, where hitting specific points on an enemy’s body can impair their movement or attacks, and she can charge the bow to stack up to five arrows for a volley, which pairs with Phranque’s ability to launch enemies into the air. A half press puts her in a more mobile hip-fire stance that fires a cluster of arrows at close range and lets her juggle airborne enemies to extend combos while swapping between weapons and abilities.
The bow also has multiple arrow types to choose from, including rapid fire, explosive, and multi-target, along with its own unlockable skills. Beyond the bow, Faye’s armor sets carry their own perks, stats, and looks, and the rest of her gear is customizable, too. The Blade changes the element of her sword, and Catalysts are artifacts that channel the magic of the Everywhen, with a variety of effects to choose from. The studio also shared new screenshots and combat footage as a thank you for the response since the June reveal, which closed out State of Play with 20 minutes of gameplay, and the full breakdown is on the PlayStation Blog.
