Lara Croft and the Tomb Raider sequel will be heading to next-gen consoles, the CEO of Square Enix, Phil Rogers, has confirmed. In a blog posted on Square Enix’s website, Rogers talks about the company’s future, including projects that are currently being worked on and revealed that a next-generation Tomb Raider sequel is already in development.
Over the last few days, the rumor mill has been churning when an announcement came that a comic book would bridge the gap between Tomb Raider and its sequel. So Rogers’ announcement was simply a formality to address those rumors, and honestly, everyone expected the game to get a sequel given how successful the reboot has been.
Unfortunately no details were spilled on the sequel, since it is in the very early stages of development. Crystal Dynamics has a lot to live up to however, and is working hard to raise the bar even higher.
