Lara Croft and Tomb Raider will be at The Game Awards 2025, as revealed via The Game Awards Vote map in Fortnite. The official Tomb Raider social media channels confirmed that the franchise will make an appearance at The Game Awards on December 11, 2025, and that we’ll get a look at the future of the series. The word future is important here, as it suggests we’ll be seeing a new entry rather than a remaster or a remake of a previous title.

As a gaming franchise, Tomb Raider has been stuck in recent years as it switched hands multiple times, from Eidos to Square Enix in 2009 before Embracer Group acquired it from Square Enix in 2022. In December 2022, Amazon Games and Crystal Dynamics announced they reached an agreement under which Crystal Dynamics would develop a new multiplatform Tomb Raider title, while Amazon Games would provide full support and publish the game globally. At the time, Crystal Dynamics confirmed it would be a single-player, narrative-driven adventure built in Unreal Engine 5. Since then, though, we haven’t heard much about the game.

However, Netflix released the animated series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft last year, which has been confirmed to get a second season. Meanwhile, Prime Video has confirmed its own series, which is being written and produced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. No word yet on when we’ll see that, though it’s possible it’s the announcement at The Game Awards. We think it’s more likely a glimpse at the next game, though.
