Tinykin developer Splashteam is swapping tiny humans for a pastry-flinging squirrel with Acornia: Mirror Worlds, a new action-adventure shop management game revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live. Published by The Arcade Crew, the game is coming to PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC in 2027.

Acornia: Mirror Worlds stars Alva, a young squirrel who returns home after a long absence to find her tree village corrupted by the Duramen, a dark mirror dimension filled with angry spirits. Many of Acornia’s residents have already left, leaving Alva to rebuild the village while reopening and managing her family’s dessert shop.

The two sides of the game feed directly into each other. Back in Acornia, players grow and harvest ingredients, create new recipes, serve customers, expand the shop, and eventually hire employees to automate some of the daily work. Improving the store’s reputation gives Alva access to more pastries, which are important once she heads into the Duramen.

That’s because Alva’s desserts double as ammunition. She stuffs cakes, crumbles, and other treats into her cheeks before entering dungeons, then fires them at the spirits she encounters. Players can explore multiple dungeon floors, dodge traps, take on bosses, and gather new recipes and materials. If Alva runs out of pastries, she can even swallow enemies and spit them back out at whatever comes next.

Outside of running the shop and exploring the Duramen, Acornia: Mirror Worlds includes more than 25 villagers with their own routines and side quests, along with seasonal events such as bug catching and flower decorating. Seasonal preferences also affect what customers want to buy, giving players another reason to change up what’s on the menu throughout the year.

Acornia: Mirror Worlds is planned for 2027 on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
