Ubisoft is taking Rainbow Six in a turn-based direction with Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Tactics, a new single-player tactical game revealed during Opening Night Live. Developed by Ubisoft Paris, the game puts players in the role of Six, commander of the Rainbow unit, with squads of up to four operators carrying out missions around the world.

Rainbow Six Tactics takes place alongside the ongoing Rainbow Six Siege timeline, but the action starts well before your operators enter the field. From Rainbow’s headquarters, players will assess intelligence, select missions, assign operators, upgrade their base, and prepare their team before deployment. Once a mission begins, combat shifts to turn-based encounters built around operator abilities, gadgets, reconnaissance tools, and destructible environments.

There are 15 operators from Rainbow Six Siege to choose from, with each offering unique abilities, specialized gadgets, and individual skill trees. Squads can be customized around different approaches across dozens of missions, including hostage rescue, bomb disposal, and target elimination. Destruction also plays a major role, allowing players to break through walls to create new lines of sight, remove enemy cover, or open alternate routes into an area.

One of the more unusual mechanics is Breach, which temporarily breaks the normal turn-based structure. Triggering a Breach launches a synchronized assault where all operators act at once, letting the squad combine abilities and environmental destruction to surprise enemies. Rainbow Six Tactics is heading to PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC through Ubisoft Connect, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, with Ubisoft+, GeForce Now, and Blacknut also supported. Wishlisting is available now on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, Ubisoft Connect, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
