The Elder Scrolls Online is dropping its monthly subscription fee and as a result will also change its name to The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. The game isn’t exactly free-to-play as you’ll still have to purchase it, but after that you won’t have to worry about any other monthly fees while getting full access to all the game’s content. All existing accounts will be converted to the new version and dedicated fans will have the option for an “ESO Plus” membership that is available in 30-, 90- and 180-day durations that gives access to future DLC. In addition, the membership program will provide “character progression bonuses” as well as some crowns, the new in-game currency used to purchase “convenience and customization items,” such as pets and mounts.
According to Zenimax Online, current subscriptions that extend beyond the changeover will automatically transition to ESO Plus memberships. The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited will start on March 17 for the PC and Mac while the game will be heading to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One starting June 9.

We can’t wait for everyone, whether they’ve played before or will be experiencing it for the first time, to begin adventuring in The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.”
