The Elder Scrolls Online has been delayed for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. According to a blog post on the game’s website, the console versions of The Elder Scrolls Online will “need about six months” to ensure it delivers the experience Zenimax and Bethesda wants their fans expect and deserve.
As a result of the delay, Zenimax and Bethesda are offering a special offer to those that purchase the PC or Mac version of the game by the end of June: the opportunity to transfer their character(s) to either console version when they are released. In addition, those that purchase the game on PC or Mac will have to pay just $20 to add a full, digital version of the game on either the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One as well as another 30 days of included game time.
“We continue to work on the console versions of ESO, and game development has been progressing steadily, but we are still working to solve a series of unique problems specific to those platforms,” said a post on The Elder Scrolls Online’s website. “Integrating our systems with each console manufacturer’s networks—which are both different from the PC/Mac system as well as different from each other—has been a challenging process.”
