If you’re hungry for a new factory automation and base-building game, StarRupture has entered Steam Early Access on January 6, 2026. The game comes from Creepy Jar, the team behind Green Hell, which we really enjoyed back in 2020. Given how much we liked Green Hell and its take on ayahuasca, we’re really excited to dive into StarRupture, especially since we’re huge fans of games like Factorio and Satisfactory. Personally, Factorio is my third most-played game on Steam of all time with nearly 350 hours, while Satisfactory shows over 285 hours on the Epic Games Store. Needless to say, The Factory Must Grow is a mantra we subscribe to.
StarRupture has players taking on the role of a prisoner who has been sent to a deadly planet, Arcadia-7, rich in resources and packed with places and secrets to be discovered. You’re tasked with building a factory to gather resources for global corporations that really don’t care if you live or die. We’re looking forward to setting off on our adventure this week and seeing just how the factory building stacks up against other greats in the genre. Here’s to hoping this is another game we can sink hundreds of hours into, and you can expect our first impressions in a week or so.

To celebrate today’s launch, Creepy Jar has shared the game’s Early Access Roadmap that promises ongoing improvements to many of the game’s core systems, from performance to building and combat mechanics. Some of the features to look forward to include wildlife, custom game mode options, controller support, and more. In terms of content, StarRupture will eventually expand the world map and add even more levels and rewards, along with weapons, resources, and buildings. It sounds similar to Satisfactory’s Early Access path, and we all know that worked out well.
