This past Friday, the Sony PS4 was released in North America and by all accounts it has been a resounding success. Though there’s reports of issues with the hardware, it may be tough to find a PS4 on the store shelves this holiday season if you haven’t grabbed one yet. Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Entertainment’s Worldwide Studios, has announced that the PS4 has sold over one-million units within 24 hours of its launch. Those sales figures make the PS4 the fastest-selling console yet for Sony and there’s a possibility that the PS4 could overtake the Wii U’s total sales (3.91 million) by the end of the year.
The system will launch in Europe and Latin America on November 29. The Microsoft Xbox One will be available on November 22.
