Access PlayStation has released a new PlayStation 4 video with answers to 10 popular questions on the next-generation console. Some of the highlights to the video include confirmation that the PlayStation 4 will have party chat, a friends list with a capacity of 2,000, and that PlayStation Plus will be required to play online multiplayer. It will not however, be required for party chat, Netflix, and Free-to-Play games.
In addition, the video confirmed that the PlayStation 3’s DualShock 3 controller will not work on the next-gen console, however PS Move will. As for the launch unit, it’ll be finished in “Jet Black” as opposed to the “Piano Black” that was available at the launch of the PlayStation 3. You can also tell by the above photo that the PlayStation 4 will be comparable in size to the original “fat” PlayStation 3, albeit a little shorter.
Other tidbits announced by Sony include plans to support 3D content, with more news on that coming soon. The PlayStation 4 will launch with a 500 GB hard drive and the user will be able to swap it out, just like the current PlayStation 3. The video also answers the question of what PS Camera will do, which is designed to “further enhance the way you can play your games on the PlayStation 4.”
Lastly, you will be able to keep your current PSN ID and also be able to control who can see what information.
