Simcity offline is coming as a free download with Update 10, Maxis has announced. According to General Manager Patrick Buechner, the team is in the late phases of wrapping up its development and all features to the game will be playable offline once the update goes live. In Update 10, players will be able to play the new Single Player Mode and Simcity offline saved games will be saved locally. That means players will finally be able to save their game, test something out, and load it if it didn’t work out well for their city.
The Simcity offline mode also coincides with the announcement of mods for the game, allowing the community to create their mods without compromising the integrity of the online game.
