It’s been a little over a year since I said I’d be surprised if Persona 4 Revival didn’t end up on Switch 2, and Atlus finally made it official at today’s Nintendo Direct with a May 20, 2027 release date. That’s three months behind the February 18, 2027 launch on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC, which follows the same pattern as Persona 3 Reload, which arrived on Switch 2 in October 2025 after debuting elsewhere in early 2024. At least the gap here is a lot shorter.
Persona 4 Revival is a remake of Persona 4 Golden, revisiting the Midnight Channel mystery in Inaba, where a string of bizarre murders pulls a group of high schoolers into a supernatural investigation. Atlus has already detailed the combat changes, including the new Prime Time gauge, along with a recast English voice cast and re-recorded versions of the soundtrack’s staples. Nothing in today’s segment suggested the Switch 2 version differs in content, though Atlus hasn’t spoken to performance or pricing on the platform.
The other half of the segment was Persona 6, which closed Atlus’s slot with a short teaser of a Switch 2 on a black background, its screen filling with green static before the P6 logo appeared. It’s similar to the trailer that has already been teased, so unfortunately, no gameplay, no characters, no date, and no new word on whether the Switch 2 version launches alongside the PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC versions. Atlus describes Persona 6 as a standalone story with a fresh cast, built on the series’ usual mix of daily life, social bonds, and turn-based combat.
As someone who started with the original Persona 3, I said in June that I’m glad Persona 5’s success let Atlus remake both Persona 3 and Persona 4, and having both remakes plus Persona 6 on Switch 2 means the whole modern lineup will be playable on a handheld. Persona 3 Reload is already there, Metaphor: ReFantazio lands November 12, and now the next two Persona games have a home on the console too.
