Less than a month after Palworld exited Early Access with its 1.0 update, Pocketpair’s monster-collecting brand is expanding again, and this time it’s turning into a full MMO. Garena announced Palworld Online today, a multiplayer survival adventure for mobile that’s currently in development under an official license from Pocketpair.
Developed and published by Garena, the Singapore-based company behind Free Fire, Palworld Online reimagines the original survival creature-collecting formula as a Massively Multiplayer Online ecosystem with a seamless, interconnected open world. It features a new narrative setting with original story elements, plus side stories created exclusively for this version. Not surprisingly, the pitch is heavily social: players can form groups, build shared settlements, automate production by deploying Pals, take on PvE encounters and open-world bosses together, hunt rare Pals, and jump into PvP matches. Garena is also promising a touch-friendly interface with optional one-tap controls for base building and Pal management. “Working closely with Pocketpair, we are focused on preserving the depth, immersion, and freedom that define Palworld,” said Garena president Terry Zhao.
If this all sounds vaguely familiar, that’s because this is the second licensed mobile Palworld project we’ve covered. Back in 2024, Krafton confirmed its own mobile version of Palworld developed by PUBG Studios, and today’s announcement doesn’t mention that project at all. As I noted when Krafton’s version was announced, Pocketpair has been steadily scaling the brand’s reach through outside partnerships. The brand it’s licensing out is bigger than ever, too, having crossed 40 million players right before the 1.0 launch.
As for when you’ll actually get to play it, Garena says Palworld Online is scheduled to be available in 2026, which leaves it five months at most, though the actual launch timeline is still to be announced. More details are promised at a later date through the game’s official channels.
