Will last year’s Game of the Year, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, make it to Switch 2? Some fans are hoping that’s one of the announcements in the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, set for tomorrow, February 5, at 6:00AM Pacific (9:00AM Eastern). The broadcast will feature roughly 30 minutes of information on upcoming Switch and Switch 2 games from third-party publishers and developers. That means you shouldn’t expect anything from Nintendo’s first-party teams. This makes me sad because I’ll have to keep being patient for the next Xenoblade or Xeno-adjacent announcement.

So what can we expect? If I had to guess, we’ll probably get a new release date for Elden Ring Tarnished Edition on Switch 2, which was delayed in October 2025. Hopefully, FromSoftware will share new details on The Duskbloods, a Switch 2-exclusive multiplayer title. Capcom will more than likely show off Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata. Square Enix fans will probably want to hear when Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will head to Switch 2, now that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade enjoyed a successful launch on the console. Final Fantasy XVI is also a possibility. What’s more likely is an appearance of The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, which is set to launch sometime this year.

As for some wilder guesses? Well, many are hoping Metaphor: ReFantazio finally gets a port, and there’s a possibility Monster Hunter Wilds somehow works on the Switch 2. Luckily, we don’t have much longer to wait, and hopefully we’ll get a new game announcement or two.
