Today, Capcom hosted the final Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak developer roundtable where series producer, Ryozo Tsujimoto, was joined by Sunbreak director, Yoshitake Suzuki, to give a look at the free bonus update, set to arrive on June 8, 2023. They were also joined by Monster Hunter Rise director, Yasunori Ichinose, who reflected on the last two years of development for Monster Hunter Rise. According to Capcom, the story of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak was originally set to end with the clash of Kamura’s forces against Amatsu in the free title update 5. However, the development team decided that they wanted the free bonus update to conclude the age-old relationship between the Elder Dragon Malzeno and the Kingdom.
The big announcement, however, is the reveal of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak’s final monster, Primordial Malzeno. Available starting at Master Rank level 10, Primordial Malzeno promises to deliver new ferocious attacks and moves for hunters to learn. Of course, Primordial Malzeno’s parts offer a unique new armor set and weapons for hunters.
Along with the free bonus update arriving on June 8, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak will also have event quests continuing to release until July 27. Players on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC will be able to experience all the content from title updates 4, 5, and the bonus update, starting from August 24, 2023, as a single package.
Monster Hunter is celebrating its 20th anniversary next year, and we wouldn’t be surprised if a new game is teased at the upcoming Capcom Showcase set for June 12.
