Comcept has shared screenshots of the Mighty No. 9 in alpha, a spiritual successor to the popular Mega Man series. The project raised over $4 million on its Kickstarter and is due to be released in about 15 months barring no delays. Through its successful funding, Mighty No. 9 will be heading to virtually every console imaginable including the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, 2DS, 3DS and Wii U.

Mighty No. 9 is being headed by Keiji Inafune, the creator of Mega Man, and the team at Comcept consists of several veteran Mega Man developers. The project is being billed as an all-new Japanese side-scrolling action game that will blend the best aspects of 8-bit and 16-bit classics with modern technology.
