Skull Island: Rise of Kong has officially debuted, and publisher GameMill Entertainment announced that it is set to launch this fall on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. According to the video description on YouTube, Skull Island: Rise of Kong is based on the rich history of Skull Island and is a third-person, action-adventure game. Players, taking on the role of Kong, will embark on a journey of vengeance to reclaim his rightful place as King of Skull Island.

“Take on an action-packed quest to avenge the death of Kong’s parents at the hands of the ultimate alpha predator: the saurian terror Gaw,” the description reads. “Traverse the mysterious island and uncover its secrets across a variety of treacherous environments, discovering the power coursing through its exotic flora and fauna. Conquer waves of primal beasts, defeat unique bosses, and rise above all who stand in Kong’s way to being King!”

While it’s easy to get excited for a new Kong game, this one may not be one worth getting excited over. We know we shouldn’t judge a game by its trailer, but it’s hard not to after watching this one. Let’s just say, Gollum might have some competition for worst game of the year.
