Jacksepticeye Is Hitman’s Next Elusive Target, The Host

After last December’s Slim Shady mission and several more celebrity appearances this year, Hitman World of Assassination’s latest Elusive Target features Jacksepticeye, with Seán McLoughlin lending his face and voice to Finn Colton, a content creator Agent 47 can hunt down for free from today, October 29, through November 25. The mission, titled The Host, is available in the full game, while players using the Free Demo can experience Colton through The Host Assignment. Access to the Hawke’s Bay location is required for the Elusive Target, and Switch and Switch 2 players need the full game to participate. IO Interactive, which released 007 First Light back in May, is also kicking off a new roadmap called Season of The Host alongside it, with a paid DLC pack for anyone who wants permanent access to the new content.

Colton, better known online as Finnvictus, is a former children’s television star turned wealthy and controversial creator who is regularly criticized for exploitative contracts that push his employees to their limits. Agent 47’s client is a relative of one of those creators, who disappeared after signing with the Finnvictus team, and the evidence points to her murder with Colton as the perpetrator, though his wealth and influence have kept him out of reach. Colton is paranoid and rarely leaves his remote content complex in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand, where a camera setup livestreams every part of his life around the clock. To get inside, the client has secured 47 a guest spot on the Finn and Friends podcast under the alias of “thought leader” Tobias Rieper, which means he’ll have to avoid the cameras while carrying out the assassination. IO Interactive describes the mission as a darkly comic look at Colton’s content empire, and notes that, like 47, Colton is a man who wears many masks to earn a living, though he isn’t nearly as comfortable with what’s underneath them.

Season of The Host adds The Host Assignment, a Special Assignment with five custom challenges that also features McLoughlin as Colton, the returning “Like Mist” challenge that rewards The Vampire Magician Suit, new Featured Contracts, and a Twitch Drop for the Royal Purple Banana. Three older Elusive Targets are also returning for the season, sending 47 back to Paris for The Pharmacist, Bangkok for The Warlord, and Marrakesh for The Entertainer. Anyone who plays The Host while signed into an IOI Account will also unlock The Hijacker Duck.

The Host Pack, priced at $7.99, grants permanent access to The Collab, a two-level Arcade contract built around The Host, as well as The Host Assignment. It also includes the Thought Leader Suit with Gloves, the Persona “Suit,” the Demon Dakota 12G shotgun, the DXTR PlayFactory Controller, the Creator Soundboard, the Kwineeny Collectible, and additional Freelancer Safehouse cosmetics. The pack is available today on most platforms, with the Switch and Switch 2 versions arriving November 10. “I’ve been playing HITMAN with my community for years, so getting to actually step into the World of Assassination is unreal,” said McLoughlin. “Finn is loud, paranoid, and completely obsessed with content, and playing him was an absolute blast.” Hitman World of Assassination is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PlayStation VR2, XBOX One, XBOX Series X|S, ROG XBOX Ally and ROG XBOX Ally X, Switch, Switch 2, iPhone, iPad, Apple silicon Macs, PC, and PC VR.
