Dave the Diver is leaving the Blue Hole behind, and the detour starts today. Mintrocket’s In the Jungle expansion is out now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, XBOX One, XBOX Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, and PC, billed by the studio as the game’s biggest expansion to date. It swaps the saltwater depths for a freshwater lake and a lakeside jungle village called Utara for around $10.

There’s roughly 10 hours of new content, and it branches away from both the base game and the earlier crossovers that brought in the likes of Dredge, Godzilla, and the Yakuza cast. Beneath the jungle lake sits a new freshwater ecosystem to explore, with new missions, characters, minigames, and discoveries layered on top. In the Jungle unlocks after you finish the base game’s main story, though Mintrocket is also letting players jump straight into the DLC without clearing the campaign first.

Chef Bancho comes along too, but the menu changes with the setting. His new restaurant, Bancho Grill, swaps raw seafood for grilled freshwater dishes, and the restaurant side shifts to an isometric view that lets Dave move around the floor to serve customers instead of working a single service line.

To mark the launch, Mintrocket teamed up with The Asylum, the studio behind Sharknado and Meth Gator, for a live-action short film based on the expansion and directed by Anthony C. Ferrante. It’s a great watch, especially if you’ve played the base game.

On the physical side, Silver Lining Direct is taking preorders for two boxed releases on PlayStation 5 and Switch 2: a Complete Edition with the base game and every DLC on one disc or cartridge, and a Collector’s Edition that adds an acrylic standee, four metal pins, an acrylic keyring, a dolphin pendant, two Marinca cards, a poster, and four postcards. Both ship later this year. For anyone who hasn’t played yet, the base game is at its deepest discount so far, 50 percent off for a limited time.
