Mobile players who have been eyeing Dave the Diver can now get in line, with pre-registration for the game open on iOS and Android. Developer Mintrocket first announced the mobile version earlier this month during a Dev Dive vlog, and this is the next step before the Blue Hole surfaces on phones.
For anyone who has somehow missed it, Dave the Diver is the award-winning genre mashup where you spend your days diving the Blue Hole to harpoon fish and haul up loot, then run a sushi restaurant by night with the day’s catch. The diving carries “roguelike” stakes, since running out of oxygen means leaving whatever you collected at the bottom of the sea. Lose the air, lose the haul. There are more than 200 species to discover, the writing is full of in-jokes and spoofs, and the pixel-and-3D art gives the world a distinctive look. That combination built a sizable following on other platforms before this mobile move.
The mobile version does not have a firm launch date yet, but pre-registration is open now on both the App Store and Google Play. It is part of a busy stretch for Mintrocket, too. The same Dev Dive that confirmed the mobile port also revealed Godzilla Defense Force: X, a separate Mintrocket mobile game due out in 2027.
