Announced in April, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment finally has a release date. Heading to Switch 2 on November 6, the latest entry in the Hyrule Warriors franchise covers c1anonical events that led to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The story mainly focuses on Princess Zelda, King Rauru, and Queen Sonia as Zelda travels back in time to take on Demon King Ganondorf. Today’s trailer also showed gameplay of a character probably no one expected: a Korok. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment also incorporates Zonai Devices from Tears of the Kingdom, which bring water, wind, and other effects to combat.

The Sync Strike feature also lets players team up with a nearby ally for high-damage attacks or other effects. The game will support GameShare, allowing two players to play on separate systems, even if only one player has the game.

It will likely be a while before we get a proper Zelda game on Switch 2, but don’t overlook the Hyrule Warriors series if you’ve never played it. Each entry has been plenty of fun, and fans of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will want to check out Age of Imprisonment, even if it’s only for the story and characters.
