When Acclaim made its return last year with nine games, one of them was HYPERyuki: Snowboard Syndicate, an arcade snowboarding game from Mexican indie studio Wabisabi Games that Acclaim describes as a love letter to SSX and the extreme sports games of the Y2K era. A new trailer during today’s Indie World Showcase confirmed the game is also coming to Switch 2, joining the PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC versions. All four platforms are now targeting early 2027, which is later than the 2026 window given at the original reveal.

Wabisabi Games previously made RKGK, or Rakugaki, and HYPERyuki’s roster of riders includes a snowboarding taco and a giant kaiju. The game has three modes: Challenge, where players complete objectives and chase leaderboard scores by riding rails, collecting trinkets, and landing tricks; Race, which pits them against NPCs or other players with tricks filling a boost meter; and Chill, an endless mode for hanging around the courses and hunting for secrets. Multiplayer works online with up to seven friends or locally through split screen, and when the game was first revealed, it had eight courses and a soundtrack featuring YMCK and Trasto NueveVidas.

“Having Hyperyuki Snowboard Syndicate featured in the Nintendo Indie World Showcase is a dream come true for our team,” said Anwar Noriega, CEO and co-founder of Wabisabi Games. “Growing up, the ‘Nintendo Seal of Quality’ meant a game was special, polished, and worth your time. To us, being included in an Indie World Showcase feels like the modern-day equivalent of that iconic badge.” Those who want to try it before launch can look for the Steam demo next month.
