The story for the upcoming Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak is being previewed with the release of a new trailer titled “Primary Anomaly.” Heading to the PC January 20, 2016, Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak will feature an origin story where the planet is dying but an anomaly has been discovered deep in the southern sands of Kharak.
The campaign will be led by chief science officer Rachel S’jet, with the Coalition of the Northern Kiithid sending an expedition deep within enemy-controlled territory to investigate the finding.

The upcoming game is developed by Blackbird Interactive, a studio founded by veterans of the Homeworld and Company of Heroes franchises. In addition to the campaign, players will be able to complete online solo or with friends in a variety of game modes, including ranked play.
Those that pre-order the game will receive a free copy of the Homeworld Remastered Collection, while existing owners of the Homeworld Remastered Collection are eligible to get 20 percent off on Steam.
