Gran Turismo 6 will be released globally on December 6, 2013, and the latest iteration of “The Real Driving Simulator” will feature microtransactions. In a blog detailing the features for Gran Turismo 6, it was revealed that players will be able to purchase in-game credits through the PS Store or a local retailer. Though the pricing ratio wasn’t announced, virtual drivers will be able to get credits in bundles of 500,000, one million, 2.5 million or seven million.

Depending on what it costs, it could be a viable proposition for those that want to just have a massive virtual car collection rather than sit there grinding out credits in order to purchase every car they want. To show an example, less than one million credits (991,380) will snag you the following in Gran Turismo 6: 2011 BMW Z4 GT3, Ford GT, SRT Viper GTS, Acura NSX (the older one, unfortunately), Toyota GT 86, Honda S2000, Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, Tesla Model S Signature Performance and the Nissan GT-R.

In fact, the credit pricing for vehicles is pretty much the same as what you’d expect walking into a dealership – $51,000 for a Corvette Stingray is 51,000 credits.

Players in Europe are able to pre-order Gran Turismo 6 on the PS Store, including the Special Edition that comes with 20 extra cars, custom PSN avatars, paint chips, race suits and race helmets.
