Just ahead of Australia’s Bathurst 1000 race, the folks at Gran Turismo 6 has revealed a new video showing off the Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia. The Mount Panorama Circuit is frequently referred to as Bathurst and Gran Turismo 6 will be the first time the track has made an appearance in the storied franchise. The race race held at Bathurst was the 1938 Australian Grand Prix and it now hosts the Bathurst 12 Hour endurance race and the Bathurst 1000. Spanning four miles long and packed with surprisingly steep inclines and a twisty, narrow section across the top of the mountain, Bathurst provides a difficult course even for the best racing drivers in the world.
Mount Panorama Circuit is often referred to as Australia’s own Nürburgring, the world-famous track in Europe that every automaker uses as a benchmark to test the performance of their vehicles.
Gran Turismo 6 will be released on December 6, 2013 exclusively for the Sony PlayStation 3 and will feature over 1,200 cars.
