Xbox has revealed the Game Pass additions for December 2023, including titles that are joining the Game Pass Core library. Typically, the Xbox team splits up the Game Pass announcements into two waves, but for December, they have decided to announce everything heading to the service this month.

Available starting today are both Remnant: From the Ashes (Cloud, Console, and PC) and Remnant II (Cloud, PC, Xbox Series X|S). Both these games are fantastic if you like third-person shooters, and you can read my Remnant II review to get a better idea as to what makes these games so special. I highly recommend them, especially if you have two other friends to venture with you.

Joining the lineup tomorrow are Spirit of the North (Cloud, Console, and PC) and SteamWorld Build (Cloud, Console, and PC). Spirit of the North has players setting out on a journey across landscapes inspired by those in Iceland. Uncover what happened to an ancient civilization that once occupied a land left in ruin in this adventure game. Meanwhile, SteamWorld Build is available as a day one title and brings a new take on the city building genre. Players will break ground on a bustling western-inspired SteamWorld town where they’ll have to manage their steambots, produce resources, search for ancient technologies, defend their mine, and more. The game was also developed with controller support in mind, so it might be a great title to play on your handheld PC.

December 5 sees four new titles joining Game Pass, including Clone Drone in the Danger Zone (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S), Rise of the Tomb Raider (Cloud, Console, and PC), While the Iron’s Hot (Cloud, Console, and PC), and World War Z: Aftermath (Cloud, Console, and PC). Clone Drone in the Danger Zone is a robot voxel slice ’em up game, where any part of your robot body can be sliced off. Rise of the Tomb Raider needs no introduction, as Lara Croft’s adventure is returning to the Game Pass library. While the Iron’s Hot is a day one title with Game Pass where players step into the boots of a journeyman blacksmith on a quest to become a master, while restoring a ruined village along the way. Those looking for a co-op third-person zombie shooter will want to spend some time with World War Z: Aftermath.

On December 7, the widely beloved Goat Simulator 3 (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) makes its way to Game Pass as an all-new, totally realistic, sandbox farmyard experience where players once again step into the hooves of Pilgor. Following its exit from Early Access, Against the Storm (PC) joins Game Pass on December 8. This dark fantasy city builder features roguelite elements and is a game I’ve been enjoying during its Early Access period. Look for a review sometime after its official launch.

Tin Hearts (Cloud, Console, and PC) arrives on December 12, and just in time for the holiday break, Far Cry 6 (Cloud, Console, and PC) will be available from December 14. Tin Hearts is a Lemmings-like puzzle game revisits the emotional story of genius inventor Albert Butterworth. It features four distinctive acts with over 50 puzzles as players work to provide a safe route of passage for a troop of tin soldiers.

Additionally, Chivalry 2 and Totally Reliable Delivery Service will join the Game Pass Core library on December 6.

Reminder: The following games will leave Game Pass on December 15:

  • Chained Echoes (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Opus Magnum (PC)
  • Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Rubber Bandits (Cloud, Console, and PC)
