As Enshrouded nears its second anniversary, the team at Keen Games has announced it’s aiming to exit Early Access in fall 2026. As it prepares for full release, players will get a final major content update featuring Adventure Sharing and a long list of improvements. That major content update is scheduled for Q2 2026 and will be the game’s eighth major update. Some of the improvements include better balancing, updates to combat, polishing, and general performance optimization.
When the game hits 1.0, we’ll get even more locations to explore and new enemies to fight, which is a bit crazy considering how much the game already has to offer. Enshrouded will also be heading to consoles, joining the five million players who have set off on the adventure since the game’s Early Access launch.

Tomorrow, January 22, Enshrouded will get a patch that tweaks combat, fixes a lot of bugs, adds a new vanity armor set, and makes those randomly exploding barrels a little less random. If you’ve played Enshrouded, you’ve likely experienced one of those barrels, because we definitely have.
We were about 20 hours into Enshrouded before StarRupture pulled our attention elsewhere. We’re nearing the end of StarRupture’s current Early Access content and plan to revisit Enshrouded as soon as possible, because we really enjoyed what we’ve seen so far.
