Keen Games has set a 1.0 launch date for Enshrouded, its voxel-based survival action RPG, after more than two years in Early Access. The full version arrives October 15, 2026 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and PC, though the XBOX Series X|S edition won’t make that date and is now set for spring 2027.
The original plan was to bring Enshrouded to PC and consoles together at 1.0, but Keen split the launch. CEO Jan Jöckel said getting the game’s systems, including its deep terraforming and large-scale building, running well on two console platforms at the same time turned out to be more demanding than the studio expected. Rather than rush both out the door, he said the team chose to “focus and get each version right,” with work on the XBOX Series X|S edition still ongoing for a spring 2027 release.
Enshrouded first surfaced in May 2023 and launched into Early Access in January 2024, where it’s since pulled in more than five million players. Across eight major content updates, Keen added three new biomes and their monsters, new weapons and armor, and dynamic water to the voxel world. The eighth and final Early Access update, Forging the Path, shipped in April with a big combat overhaul and the community-focused Adventure Sharing hub.
None of our enthusiasm for Enshrouded is new, and our earlier coverage makes that clear. When Keen first laid out the fall 2026 plan, we called it one of the most impressive crafting survival games we’ve played, and we’d already put around 20 hours in before other games pulled us away. We’ve been meaning to get back to it. A 1.0 launch with a fresh console audience is as good a reason as any.
Keen says more details on the full 1.0 launch are coming sometime this summer. For now, PlayStation 5 and PC players have an October 15 date circled, while XBOX players are looking at a wait into spring 2027.
