Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, first revealed during Square Enix’s Dragon Quest Day celebration last month, now has a December 3, 2026 release date. The next entry in the monster-taming series got a fresh trailer during the latest Nintendo Direct, confirming a launch on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.

The Withered World is the newest entry in the Dragon Quest Monsters series, featuring more than 500 new and fan-favorite monsters, updated graphics, and a story that follows dual protagonists Bianca and Nera as they work to bring the world of Witherwood back to life. Square Enix notes that no experience with past Dragon Quest Monsters games is required. Preorders are live now, with digital preorders for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions starting at a later date.
