Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 now has another teaser trailer and a fall 2026 release window on Netflix, roughly a year after CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger confirmed the sequel was in production. Rather than continuing the first series, it is a standalone story that follows an entirely new cast through Night City, with the teaser leaning hard into the gritty, lawless tone the franchise is known for.
The sequel reunites much of the creative core behind the 2022 original. Kai Ikarashi, who worked on the first Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and SSSS.Gridman, takes over as director, with Kanno Ichigo (Promare, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners) as lead designer and Hugo Award winner Bartosz Sztybor back as showrunner, story writer, and producer. The first series told a self-contained story. This one starts fresh with a new cast rather than picking up old threads.
The original Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is widely credited with pulling players back to Cyberpunk 2077 well after the game’s rocky 2020 launch, with concurrent player counts jumping sharply in the weeks after the anime aired. On the audio side, the teaser pairs an original score from Tsuneo Imahori with a new track called “You Can’t Run From Me,” performed by Rico Nasty. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 lands on Netflix this fall, though an exact date has not been announced yet.
