Remedy Entertainment used gamescom Opening Night Live to give us another look at Control Resonant, and this time it brought The Prodigy along for the ride. The new “Altered State” trailer is set to “Omen” and spends most of its time showing Dylan Faden tearing through enemies with his paranatural abilities and the shape-shifting Aberrant.

When Control Resonant was first revealed, one of the biggest changes was putting Dylan in the starring role instead of his sister Jesse. The sequel takes him outside the Oldest House and into a warped Manhattan, where he can use different forms of the Aberrant alongside his supernatural abilities. The latest footage leans hard into that combat, showing off fluid movement, executions, and some very large enemies that Dylan will have to deal with.

Remedy has been steadily showing more of Control Resonant throughout the year, and it remains our second most anticipated game of 2026. It appears that pairing its increasingly ridiculous paranatural combat with The Prodigy works pretty well. We’re also getting close enough to launch that there probably isn’t much left Remedy needs to sell me on.

Anyone attending gamescom can actually play it this week, as Control Resonant will have its first public demo at the Level Infinite booth in Hall 6. Remedy also announced a collaboration with ZA/UM Atelier featuring five made-to-order pieces inspired by the Federal Bureau of Control and Control Resonant. The collection will be displayed at gamescom from August 26 through August 30, with preorders available now.

Control Resonant launches digitally on September 24 for PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Physical editions for PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X|S follow on October 15. The Standard Edition is priced at $59.99, while the Digital Deluxe Edition is $69.99. PlayStation 5 also gets a version of the Digital Deluxe Edition with 48-hour early access. A Mac version through Steam and the App Store is planned for later this year, and GeForce Now will be supported at launch.
