The nominations for the 20th BAFTA Games Awards, celebrating the games of 2023, have been announced. The winners will be revealed on April 11 at 11:00am Pacific (2:00pm Eastern). A total of 40 games across 17 categories were nominated today, with Baldur’s Gate 3 leading with 10 nominations. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 received nine nominations, while Alan Wake 2 received eight. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor each received six nominations. Two surprises from 2023, Dave the Diver and Hi-Fi Rush, each received five nominations. Finally, Cocoon, Dredge, Final Fantasy XVI, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and Viewfinder each got four nominations.
The nominations and winners are determined by votes from BAFTA’s global membership, comprising experienced industry members from game development to production. However, the EE Players’ Choice Award is voted on by the public, and voting is now open.
