Angry Birds Star Wars II will be unleashed on iOS, Android and Windows 8 mobile devices on September 19, 2013 and Rovio has revealed an official gameplay trailer showing off a ton of new features to the popular franchise. Based on the Star Wars movie prequels, Angry Birds Star Wars II will allow players to “Join the Pork Side” to play as Darth Maul, General Grievous, Darth Vader and other villains.
There will be over 30 playable characters in Angry Birds Star Wars II including Yoda, pod-racing Anakin, Mace Windu, Jango Fett and more. It also appears that Rovio has taken a page from the popular Skylanders franchise – and also Disney Infinity – with the integration of Angry Birds Star Wars Telepods. The Telepods figures can be used with your device’s camera in order to teleport your favorite characters into the game. The functionality allows you to swap characters at any time while you play.
Angry Birds Star Wars II will cost $0.99 on September 19, 2013. Watch the official gameplay trailer below.
