It’s honestly a wonder that we haven’t gotten a game set in the John Wick universe, considering the first film debuted in 2014. That’s all about to change, though, as Saber Interactive revealed its untitled John Wick game during today’s State of Play. The team is working closely with John Wick director and franchise visionary, Chad Stahelski, Keanu Reeves, and Lionsgate to create an authentic John Wick experience. The game’s story is an original narrative that covers a significant time in John Wick’s life. It’ll feature well-known and iconic characters, as well as new ones specifically created for the game.
The team is working to deliver a unique experience with the title, saying it wants to create something that blurs the line between movies and video games. The fighting aims to feel like an authentic John Wick action scene, with unique camerawork and gun-fu action. To achieve this, Saber Interactive said it’s creating a combat system from the ground up so it can stay true to the iconic style of John Wick.
No word yet as to when it’ll release, but it will be heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
