At long last, everyone will be able to get their hands on Riot Games’ 2XKO on October 7, 2025. The game has been in Closed Beta over the last two weeks as the team focused on getting it ready for its first full-featured version. Recently, 2XKO added Vi and Blitzcrank to the roster, and the Closed Beta was the first large-scale test of the game’s online systems. The last two weeks brought numerous bug fixes and matchmaking fine-tuning, and now the team feels confident it’s ready for the next step.
As a result, the Closed Beta ends on October 7, the same day that 2XKO Early Access starts. When it does, it’ll have a full season of content and a few new features, including combo trials. Early Access will also be used by Riot Games to dial in the Battle Pass and Ranked systems, as well as balance tuning. The good news is that there won’t be any more content resets, so anything players unlock after October 7 will be permanent.
While Early Access will be 2XKO’s first season, it’ll be Season 0 by name. Next year, the game will have five seasons, and each season will introduce a new champ, a Ranked reset, a Battle Pass, and more. This means we’ll get the 10th champ on October 7, so expect a gameplay reveal trailer and dev update soon.
As for community tournaments, Riot will initially spotlight community TOs and organizations by sponsoring 22 community-run tournaments in 2025 through the First Impact program. Each First Impact event will receive a pot bonus from Riot Games, as well as an extra prize for winning as a duo. The first event will take place at Evo France, and 2XKO will host a booth from October 10 to 12.
