On January 6, IO Interactive released PC specifications for its upcoming 007 First Light. At the time, I didn’t think they were that big of a deal, because I wholly believe that if you are gaming in 2026 and want a good experience, the least you should have is 32GB of RAM. Apparently I’m in the minority here, as there was a bit of an uproar over the 32GB recommended requirement, especially when targeting 1080p performance. There were some other discrepancies I didn’t catch at the time regarding minimum VRAM that didn’t even match the recommended graphics cards.
Now, IO Interactive has released updated requirements after the community flagged those inconsistencies. According to the team, the earlier mistake was “due to an internal miscommunication leading to an older version of the specs to be shared.” So, after additional testing and careful re-examination, IO Interactive has updated its specs, bringing the recommended RAM from 32GB to 16GB, along with updating VRAM values and the minimum CPU requirements.
The requirements are still targeting 1080p performance, but IO Interactive said it’ll share additional performance targets closer to launch. 007 First Light launches on May 27, 2026, after getting delayed from its original March 27 release date.
