We’re now just over a month away from the launch of 007 First Light, IO Interactive’s take on a young, reckless James Bond, and the team kicked off its final stretch of marketing in a pretty big way. During tonight’s BAFTA Games Awards ceremony in London, IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios debuted the full title sequence for the game, complete with its official title song performed by Lana Del Rey. The song was written and composed by Lana Del Rey alongside David Arnold, who’s returning to the Bond franchise after scoring five of the films from Tomorrow Never Dies through Quantum of Solace.
The title sequence follows the long-lived Bond tradition of opening credits that showcase the game’s motifs and identity, blending striking visuals with a cinematic atmosphere to set the tone for Bond’s reimagined origin story. This is the kind of attention to detail that shows IO Interactive might understand why Bond is Bond. The franchise’s opening sequences are iconic for a reason, and pairing Lana Del Rey with a franchise veteran like David Arnold is a strong pick for a game aiming to carry that legacy into its first entry in more than 13 years.
Alongside the title sequence, IO Interactive also released the fourth episode of its Beyond the Light series, this one focused on the game’s soundtrack. The episode features interviews with Dominic Vega, missions and audio director on 007 First Light, as well as The Flight, the composer duo behind the game’s score. They dive into what it was like to work on a Bond project and how they approached the music for this new era of the franchise in gaming.
007 First Light launches on May 27, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with the Switch 2 version following later in summer 2026. Preorders are open now and include a free deluxe edition upgrade with 24-hour early access.
