Bungie has released details on Destiny‘s first expansion, which is titled The Dark Below, during Sony’s Gamescom 2014 press conference. Last year, The Dark Below was rumored to be the name of an expansion for World of Warcraft as a trademark application appeared on behalf of Blizzard Entertainment. Turns out, the trademark was for Activision Blizzard and for Bungie’s upcoming first-person shooter.
The Dark Below will launch this December on all platforms (PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One) but will be available earlier on the Sony consoles. The expansion names were actually first revealed when Bungie announced Destiny‘s special editions, which will include access to both expansions.

In addition, Bungie revealed that PlayStation gamers will get early access to a Strike mission called Dust Palace along with a competitive multiplayer map called Exodus Blue.
As for what we can expect when Destiny launches on September 9, the company showed off a new trailer focusing on the game’s multiplayer modes.
