Lionhead’s lead designer, Ted Timmins, has announced that Fable Anniversary will be delayed until February 2014. The game, which was originally set to release this holiday season for the Xbox 360, will be an HD remake of the original Fable and will include The Lost Chapters, added achievements, SmartGlass integration, leaderboards, a new UI, and full 1080p HD visuals.
It’s unfortunate that the game will be delayed, but come February 2014 Fable Anniversary will be available both in store and online via the Xbox Games Store. Along with the HD graphics, Fable Anniversary will benefit from a new lighting system that utilizes Unreal 3 to render the lighting, a new facial animation system, new cutscene animations, and updated textures, models, particle effects, save system and more.
“It’s not easy making these decisions and I know that us asking you to wait a little longer whilst we get to play test the game every day is downright unfair, so over the next few weeks we’re going to be sharing with you more screenshots, more game footage and perhaps even some… top secret announcements,” Timmins said in regards to the delay.
