President of Worldwide Studios, Sony Computer Entertainment Shuhei Yoshida, has explained on Twitter that the PlayStation 4 will automatically wake up to download a game that you’ve purchased through your smartphone. Once the game has completed downloading, the PlayStation 4 will automatically go back to sleep. This is a great feature, allowing players to purchase and download games while away from their console and having them ready to play as soon as they get home. That also means that the console doesn’t have to be on in order to start downloading games that you purchase remotely.
The Sony PlayStation 4 will be released in the U.S. on November 15, 2013 with a retail price of $399.99.
