Xbox is poised to host the year’s first major gaming event with a new edition of Developer_Direct scheduled for January 18, 2024, at 12:00 PM Pacific (3:00 PM Eastern). The event will offer fans an insider’s view of a variety of games launching on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Game Pass. Expect some surprises, as last year’s event saw the unexpected release of Hi-Fi Rush, which became one of the year’s best surprises. Following Developer_Direct, ZeniMax Online Studios will host The Elder Scrolls Online 2024 Global Reveal at 1:00 PM Pacific (4:00 PM Eastern), previewing this year’s major update.
Xbox has shared a preview of some titles that will be featured at Developer_Direct. MachineGames, the developers behind the recent Wolfenstein series, will reveal its Indiana Jones game with over 10 minutes of game and developer insights, including details on the game’s setting and story. It will also include the premiere of the first gameplay trailer. We will also hear from the team at Obsidian, who will share details on Avowed, an upcoming fantasy action RPG. Other games that are set to make an appearance include Ara: History Untold from Oxide Games, and Ninja Theory’s Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, one of our most anticipated games of 2024.
Xbox also noted that updates on games from Activision Blizzard will not be part of this Developer_Direct. We will hear news from those teams later this year.
