Today, Nintendo hosted a Mario Kart 8 Direct, showcasing details on the upcoming Wii U game that will be released on May 30, 2014. Recently, the company revealed quite a bit on Mario Kart 8 including the ability for players to host customized online tournaments as well as share videos through a new feature called Mario Kart TV. Mario Kart TV will allow players to pull footage and edit it however they’d like and the feature will automatically store the most recent 12 races while continually shuffling out old footage as new ones arrive.
Videos can be posted in full or edited into 30-, 40- or 60-second clips. Users will be able to post videos directly to YouTube from in the game so long as the clips are 60 seconds or less. Longer videos can be shared through Miiverse.
