Valheim, one of our all-time favorite crafting survival games, finally has a 1.0 release date. Developer Iron Gate has confirmed that the Viking survival game will leave early access on September 9, 2026, launching alongside its long-awaited final biome, the Deep North. The full release brings new enemies to fight, bases to build, and weapons to craft, all shown off in a new release date reveal trailer.

With the 1.0 launch, Valheim is finally coming to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, the first time the game has reached either platform. They join the existing PC, Mac, Linux, XBOX One, and XBOX Series X|S versions, and Iron Gate confirmed full crossplay across all of them so players can keep building and raiding together regardless of platform.

Iron Gate has said more details will come as launch approaches, but for now the date is the headline. Valheim 1.0 lands on September 9, 2026, and we cannot wait to sink dozens, if not hundreds, of hours back into it the moment it goes 1.0.
