It’s been a busy day in the gaming world, kicking off with the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase and the unveiling of the first gameplay trailer for Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. We also received confirmation on the four Xbox games going multiplatform and saw the debut trailer for the Borderlands movie. If that wasn’t enough, the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth demo got an update. However, what I’m truly most excited about is the release of the Unicorn Overlord demo.

Vanillaware, the creators of the brilliant 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim—one of the best games I’ve ever played—brings us Unicorn Overlord, a tactical fantasy RPG reminiscent of Tactics Ogre, Final Fantasy Tactics, and a touch of Fire Emblem. he artwork and style are unmistakably Vanillaware, and now we’re getting a chance to see the gameplay firsthand. The free demo is now available on the Nintendo Switch and is set to arrive on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S starting February 22 at 9:00pm Pacific (February 23 at 12:00am Eastern). Offering up to five hours of gameplay, progress from the demo will carry over to the main game at launch.

Unicorn Overlord is officially launching on March 8 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Switch.
