Netflix’s Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, which debuted on October 10, is getting a second season. Netflix confirmed the news today, with the next season following Lara Croft as she discovers a trail of stolen African Orisha masks. She’ll join forces with her best friend Sam to recover the artifacts, while uncovering the hidden secrets of Orisha history. Of course, these relics contain dark secrets and a power that defies logic; otherwise, it wouldn’t be much of a Tomb Raider story. The first season was a bit of an origin story, so the second season plans to advance Lara’s story from somewhat of a rookie to the icon we all know today.
The series comes from Legendary Television and is produced and written by Tasha Huo. Executive producers include dj2 Entertainment founder and CEO Dmitri M. Johnson; Timothy I. Stevenson; Jacob Robinson under Tractor Pants; Dallas Dickinson and Noah Hughes for Crystal Dynamics; Howard Bliss; and Jen Chambers. The series is animated by Powerhouse Animation with Brad Graeber serving as executive producer.
